Depilation refers to the temporary removal of surface hair through mechanical and chemical degeneration processes, free from the pain linked with epilation.
Depilation methods are inexpensive and convenient, as they can be done from the comfort of your home, but they only offer a temporary solution to the problem because it doesn’t affect the hair follicle. Epilation methods on the other hand damage the root itself, so it lasts much longer. When performing depilation hair re-growth usually takes a few hours or up to a few days after hair removal, depending on which method was used.

However, chemical depilatories can cause skin irritation as it can also dissolve skin cells.

Depilatories are directly applied to the area where hair is to be removed.
